Although the company is flexible and frequently relocates to film studios across the globe, the main workshop is near Ringwood in Hampshire. The workshop is kitted extensively with state of the art machinery to provide a vast range of leatherworking techniques as well as being transportable, to enable work to be carried out simultaneously in multiple locations.

Leather Designs is the leading company for specialist saddlery and leather props in the film industry and has over a decade of experience of working on large feature films in the UK and overseas.
Master Saddler, Jason McCabe and founder of the company, shifted from a traditional saddlery focus to a more varied, creative path in the film industry after being approached to make the saddlery and horse armour for Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, back in 2008. This opportunity became the first of many and has created regular work for the growing team of specialist leather workers and saddlers who were trained by Jason.
The company has held its highly regarded reputation by taking quality, attention to detail and an impeccable eye for design to the next level. The skill range involved goes above and beyond your typical leather working workshop and includes metalwork, carpentry, wood carving, sculpting, moulding, working with modern materials such as polyurethane and plastics and a vast range of painting and ageing techniques.
